MVRC has 180 A/E/C professionals registered, primarily in marketing and business development positions. Attendees are mostly from the Missouri Valley region- Nebraska, the Ozarks, Kansas City, Wichita, and St. Louis with a handful joining us from Iowa.

In order to get the most from your registration, it is advised to attend the whole conference. However, if you need to pick and choose, do so based on the sessions that you feel will benefit your career the most. Those sessions can be found here: https://smpsmvrc.com/schedule-programs/

The Cottonwood Hotel is located in Omaha’s historical Blackstone district.
302 S. 36th St. Omaha, Nebraska 68131

Check-in is at 4 pm. The Cottonwood will accommodate check-in as early as 2 p.m. if a room is available. If you are unable to check in prior to the conference kicking off, the Cottonwood offers a complimentary baggage hold.

With any city’s historical district, parking is a commodity. The Cottonwood does have a secure lot on the corner of 36th and Harney- just south of the hotel. Parking is $30 per night/$10 for day only parking. Carpooling is encouraged for out of town attendees.

You will enter the Cottonwood’s front doors. There is a lobby and welcome reception in the front for guests staying at the hotel to check in. The registration table for MVRC is located in the Gold Coast Foyer. A detailed color coated map of the building can be found at the bottom of this page: https://smpsmvrc.com/about-us-2/

Attire is flexible – Smart/Business Casual is recommended.

  • Smart Casual combines well-fitting, sophisticated business wear with elements of casual attire—think blouses, polo shirts, button-downs, chinos, dress pants, dark-wash jeans, and polished, practical footwear.

We will updated Wi-Fi information in the Guidebook App once we get closer to the event. Guidebook will be utilized for all announcements and information once attendees are at the conference.

There will be signs throughout the hotel directing you to your next location. Room assignments for sessions are also included here: https://smpsmvrc.com/schedule-programs/

We would encourage you to immerse yourself in the conference presentations and keep your laptops away until there is a break.

While we would encourage you to limit work or personal calls during sessions, we know that they can’t always be avoided. We ask that you avoid disrupting any speakers for other attendees by taking calls away from the conference rooms.

The Cottonwood hotel will provide all included meals. The exceptions will be the welcome reception Wednesday night, which is catered with appetizers from Blackstone’s Meatball. Dinner on Wednesday is on your own. We will do our best to provide a variety of food options, see below for information on food allergies.

When you selected your meal option for Thursday you should have noted any dietary restrictions through that. For Thursday’s meal, those who have dietary restrictions will have special place cards notating that information.

Other meal options should meet most dietary needs (gluten free, vegetarian, etc.).

The Cottonwood hosts a cocktail hour for hotel guests in the main lobby from 5-6 pm. Promptly following the happy hour, MVRC will then have a dinner and drinks for those registered for the conference in the Gold Coast Ballroom, seating begins at 6:00. Cocktail attire is recommended for that evening, but optional.

Thomas Grady Photography is our official conference photographer. He will be taking photos throughout the conference.

While weather cannot be controlled, MVRC will proceed as scheduled unless weather has prohibited travel.
