Julie is passionate about helping A/E/C marketers maximize InDesign to expedite content layout without sacrificing good design. An Adobe Certified Instructor for Creative Cloud Design & Layout Solutions, an award-winning designer, and a regular contributor to InDesign Magazine, Julie has spent more than two decades actively honing her skills. She strives to deliver winning results to her clients while advancing the role of AEC marketers through dynamic training sessions.

In 2012, Julie founded Shaffer Creative to offer marketing consulting, training, and creative design services to help firms win work. Shaffer Creative exists to help clients define differentiators and equip marketing teams to leverage their marketing efforts. Julie currently serves the SMPS Fort Worth Chapter as President for 2021–2022.
